Video - L.C. Bird Press Conference after 5A Boys State Championship
Watch the Press Conference with the L.C. Bird Skyhawks after defeating the Bethel Bruins 65-52 to capture the VHSL 5A State Championship on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at VCU's Siegel Center in Richmond. It was the first state title in program history for Bird and Head Coach Troy Manns, who last won a state title as a player at Patrick Henry-Roanoke in 1992.
Additionally, it was the third time this season that Bird has beaten Bethel, which also lost to the Skyhawks in the Reebok Crossover Showcase at the Hampton Coliseum and in the 5A-South Region Championship held at Hermitage High. The Skyhawks closed out the season 27-1 overall.
