night as he saw the Tigers blank the Hornets 35-0.
The story of the game was
Oscar Smith wideouts Todd Harrelson, Kerry Boykins and Jamal
Wilson who combined with Phil Sims to accumulate 253 yards passing and
four touchdown passes.
After the game, Merlin
spent some time with a number of Oscar Smith players and coaches to get their
thoughts on the big game...
Oscar
Smith's Freshman QB Phillip Sims
[on their quick start] -
"I just need to get the
ball to my receivers. I feel that I have the best receiving group in the
state. Our focus was to take care of business in this game."
Oscar
Smith's injured Senior QB Dexter Merritt
[on Sims' performance] -
"I tried to keep his
head in the ballgame by helping him stay cool. I tried to help stay
focused and not get caught up in all the hype of this game. You can't
ask for anything more of a player. He came out here and did a great job
in leading this team to a victory tonight."

Merlin's chat with a number of Oscar Smith players and Head Coach Rich Morgan,
