The `B.T' in
Madison quarterback B.T. Good's name stands for Braxton Taylor. It
may as stand for `Better Than.'
Good was great Friday night, leading Madison
over host McLean 40-12 in a pivotal Liberty District matchup. With
the win, Madison (6-2, 4-1 in the district) earned at least a
share of the district title. It also guaranteed the Warhawks a
spot in the Division 5 playoffs. Madison has the necessary power
points to win a tiebreaker for the district title if it loses and
McLean (5-3, 3-2) wins next week.
The victory highlights a remarkable turnaround
for senior-laden Madison, which last year was 2-8 and won just

Cougars run past Chargers

For the third
straight week, Oakton running back Danny Prentice ripped off a huge
touchdown in the second half to give his team a win.
Last night at Chantilly, he went 80 yards on the first
play of the third quarter, giving the Cougars a lead they would not
relinquish. Oakton went on for a 16-3 win in Concorde District play. The
victory improves the Cougars to 2-1 in the district, and more importantly,
6-2 overall, putting playoff a berth within their reach.

Ryan Smith of
Gar-Field proved that one does not have to throw a lot of passes
to direct an effective aerial attack.
Smith, a senior quarterback, threw just 11
passes Friday night at Forest Park, but connected on seven of them
for 123 yards and three touchdowns as the Indians beat the
Cardinal District-rival Bruins for the second time this year,
28-6.

watching a college football game between Nebraska and Oklahoma
when the Cornhuskers ran a trick play, throwing a touchdown pass
to the quarterback off a reverse.
Within seconds the phone rang and on the other
end was Potomac assistant Jerry Roadcap.

Hylton goes 9-0
By CHRIS BUBECK

Hylton
football coach Bill Brown was only interested in the bottom line
Friday night and that was his team improving to 9-0 on the season.
The Bulldogs overcame three fumbles and two
touchdown-negating penalties with a 15-6 win over Woodbridge.
Hylton also struggled with the 2-7 Vikings in a 14-13 win earlier
in the season, but Brown only cared about the final outcome
Friday.
``I'm not disappointed at all, we played
dominating defense," Brown said. ``I know we're 9-0 and we've
got a good football team and I think we're on the verge of being a
great football team. I'm not dejected."
The Bulldogs had already clinched a playoff
berth before the game and sealed Cardinal District title with the
victory.
