Hanover's Kirk Rohle has committed to play football at Hampden-Sydney (Farmville, VA).

Rohle was selected as a two-time All-Capital District running back, as well as a second-team
all region running back as a senior. An outstanding student with sparking GPA, Rohle is also
a "Hanover Scholar." Rohle has overcome adversity in each of the last two years in the form
of knee injuries. Below is a player profile VirginiaPreps.com did back in February that has
more information about this soon-to-be Hampden-Sydney Tiger:
Kirk Rohle is something of a dying breed in high school athletics—the true multi-sport star.
For years, a trend toward specialization with an eye on securing a coveted college
scholarship has permeated prep sports. Rohle bucks that trend to say the least.
Rohle has played three sports for each of his four years at Hanover High School in the
Central Region—football in the fall, wrestling in the winter, and baseball in the spring. In
football, Rohle was an integral part of Hanover's rise to prominence from a once struggling
program. The Hawks qualified for the regional playoffs for the first time ever in 2006, then
followed that up with a regional championship this past season. Rohle earned second-team
all-region honors at running back.
Rohle also excels as a wrestler. He's been an elite-level competitor for two years, and is
currently ranked #6 in the state in group AAA at 160 pounds. This is an especially
impressive accomplishment considering the fact that the Hanover football team's run to the
state semi-finals extended football by three weeks, bleeding well over into wrestling season.
That meant that Rohle was nearly a month behind everyone else by the time he started his
wrestling season. Nonetheless, he's back in the upper echelon in the state.
As good as he is as a football player and wrestler, baseball is arguably Rohle's best sport.
An athletic center fielder for one of the stronger programs in the region, Rohle could be a
legitimate Division I baseball prospect for Coach Charlie Dragum's Hawks. He has a
fantastic arm, and, with a little more "polish," could be a powerful, collegiate-caliber hitter
as well.
On a personal note, I have seen Kirk play both football and baseball on multiple occasions.
I can attest to his hard-nosed style of play and his ability to maximize his natural talent.
He's tough and does things the "right way." Wherever he winds up, he'll be an asset for any
college program that's lucky enough to get him.
