CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — The Virginia High School League announces its 2022 Class 1 All-state Girls Basketball Team.
Parry McCluer 5’10” senior guard/forward Katie Claytor is the Class 1 Player of the Year, and Honaker Head Coach Misty Miller is the Class 1 Coach of the Year.
Claytor averaged 12.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.6 steals per game while leading Parry McCluer to a 26-2 record and the State Semifinals.
Coach Misty Miller of Honaker led the Tigers to a 27-3 record and a third straight Class 1 state title with a 63-29 win over Buffalo Gap in the Finals. The Tigers ended the season on a 22-game win streak.
Eight (8) players make up the first and second teams regardless of position. Only those players selected to All-Region First-Teams are eligible for selection to the All-State team.
Each All-State selection committee is composed of eight basketball coaches (2 from each Region).
