Princess Anne 6-foot-3 center Brianna Jackson from the Class of 2019 has committed to play her College Basketball in the ACC for the Miami Hurricanes and Head Coach Katie Meier.

Jackson chose the Hurricanes over Boston College, Indiana, Old Dominion and Virginia Tech among others. She spent her first two seasons at Salem High in Virginia Beach before transferring to Princess Anne, where she helped the Lady Cavaliers capture their fifth consecutive state title back in March.

As a junior, Jackson averaged 11.8 points and 10.7 rebounds per game last season while leading the squad in blocked shots with 55.

Miami has gone 252-163 in 13 seasons under Meier, posting nine straight winning records and reaching the NCAA Tournament on seven occasions. That includes this past year as they finished 21-11 overall and 10-6 in the ACC before bowing out in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament to Quinnipiac.

At Miami, Jackson plans to study business management.

Although Princess Anne graduates All-State performer Xaria Wiggins (Mississippi State) along with two other D-1 signees in Mackayla Dickens (Albany) and Bryonna Ferebee (Radford), the Lady Cavs figure to be a prohibited favorite again in Class 5 next winter with Jackson and a host of key players - such as All-Tidewater guard Aziaha James - back.

Another girls basketball commit of note in the state is Trinity's Angel Burgos - a 5-foot-8 guard from the Class of 2019 - has given a pledge to the University of Richmond.
