star-studded roster featuring two McDonald's All-Americans (G Rajon Rondo and
F Josh Smith), Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill claimed its fifth National Prep
Poll title and third since 1999. The Steve Smith-coached Warriors were barely
tested by some of the top teams across the country as they breezed to a
perfect 38-0 record. (It's the most wins ever for the tiny boarding school,
whose basketball alumni include NBA stars Carmelo Anthony, Jerry Stackhouse
and Ron Mercer.) Oak Hill defeated seven teams that spent much of the season
in the Top 25, including an 18-point win over No. 7 Mount Vernon, N.Y., at the
Iolani Classic (Hawaii) in December
"With our schedule, to do what we did, says
a lot about our players," said coach Smith.
