Magestro Pitches Shutout

Senior Austin Magestro pitched a complete game shutout to lead C.D Hylton to a 2-0 win over Riverbend High School on Wednesday at Hylton High School. Austin, who is headed to the University of North Carolina-Wilmington (UNCW) scattered two hits while striking out nine. He struckout the side in the 5th inning and he ended the game with a k.

Hylton scored both of their runs in the second inning. Fox Semones reached on a fielders choice after Johnston single to start the inning. Semones stole second, reached third on a single by Riley West, and scored when Barrett reached base on a throwing error. A single by Joe Bagnerise scored West and gave Hylton a 2-0 lead.

Riverbend starter Anthony Burke did not allow any runs while striking out seven and walking one. He allowed five hits and both of the Hylton runs were unearned.
