Jolly Returns From West Virginia Visit

Kyle
Jolly, the Blessed Sacrament Huguenot stand out (6’6” 270 lbs) recently returned from an unofficial visit to WVU. He came away impressed with the program, the facilities and the school in general. He attended the West Virginia University invitational football camp for recruits. “Coach Stewart came to my school and told my head coach, Coach Henderson that he liked what he saw on my tape and he wanted to invite me to their one day camp. Of course I wanted to go to see WVU.  I met with Coach Bill Stewart and some of the staff on Friday and toured the great facilities in Morgantown. They are currently renovating the football offices but he got the tour of the 65,000 seat stadium, indoor practice field, field house and the weight room.”  Later on Friday he toured the school. “The school is pretty big. My tour guide and I got in a van and drove around the town of Morgantown and saw most of the campus. I never realized WVU made up the entire town. When school is in session the population of Morgantown almost doubles and on game days, the stadium has a bigger population than the rest of the town.”

On Saturday, he worked out with the other 100+ recruits. By all accounts he had the best hands and blocking techniques of all the Tight Ends in attendance.
“The new field turf in the stadium was fantastic, it was a little slick in the morning because of the amount of rain we had Friday night, but after it dried out, it was like playing on natural turf. Coach Stewart made me feel right at home. I spent half the day with the OL and the half with the TE’s. What I really liked was both Coach Stewart and Coach Hand (the TE coach) gave me some honest feedback on my camp performance and ability. They took time to tell me some things I need to work to get to where I want to go. It is great compliment to have a coaching staff of a top 25 team tell me I am pretty good.”
Kyle will attend the JMU, UNC and Duke senior camps in June and the VMI and University of Richmond senior camps in July.

With attendance at nearly 300 athletes, the
east coast was definitely well represented. Players who will become household
names again turned out to go up against the toughest competition to show they
are worthy for the next level.
