Highlights - Green Run/Potomac Falls in State Semis

Watch Highlights from Green Run's 72-48 victory over Potomac Falls in the VHSL Class 5 State Tournament semifinals at Norfolk State University's Echols Hall on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.

Just eight days after capturing their first regional title in 36 years, Green Run continued its pursuit of the program's first state title by jumping out to a 15-11 lead on Potomac Falls after one quarter of play. They outscored the Panthers 17-8 in the second period to take a 32-19 advantage into half-time.

The Green Run lead eventually swelled above 20 points in the second half. Directing the attack for the Stallions under Head Coach Kenneth Harris was his floor general, junior point guard Jacob Cooper. Named the Beach District Player of the Year, Cooper nearly posted a triple-double with 17 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds with no turnovers.

To go with Cooper, Green Run had three other players score in double-figures as senior forward Karree Smith had 14 points, while juniors Elijah Kennedy and George Wilson chipped in 13 points apiece. Virginia Tech football signee Lakeem Rudolph collected 8 rebounds.

For Potomac Falls, which closed the season 20-7 overall, they were led by the senior duo of Jalen Coker and Landon Hawes. Headed to play his College Football at Holy Cross, Coker shined with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Hawes, the Potomac District Player of the Year committed to play his College Hoops at Christopher Newport University, added 10 points and 4 rebounds.

Green Run ended its season to remember at 24-3 overall, riding an 11-game winning streak where they outscored their foes by 17.5 points per contest during that stretch.
