High School Sports Talk Presented by VirginiaPreps.com airs each and every Saturday from 10 AM EST to Noon on ESPN Radio 94.1, hosted by Matthew Hatfield and Coach Ed Young.

Filling in for Ed, Lynn Burke and Matt did the broadcast on the first day of July from the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office Youth Football Camp at Great Bridge's Colon L. Hall Stadium. Up first was Sheriff Jim O'Sullivan, discussing the camp's history and purpose (visit the web site ctltyouth.com for more info).

Former Green Run and Indian River Head Football Coach Cadillac Harris - now an assistant with the Braves - stopped by to talk about his involvement with the camp. Coach Harris has groomed many players that have gone on to the next level over the years, perhaps the most notable one being Plaxico Burress, a Super Bowl Champion with the New York Giants.

Ed Coyner of camp sponsor Signature Pools came by as a guest for a segment before the 11 AM hour. An interview with Bishop Sullivan 3-Star defensive end Dante Burke, who recently announced his commitment to Temple, was played back as well.

Oscar Smith Class of 2019 prospect Cam Kelly joined the show to discuss how his recruitment is going as well as the outlook for the Tigers. Kelly holds nearly 30 scholarship offers with some of the more recent ones including Clemson, Florida State, Michigan and Oregon. He's not only an accomplished defensive back for the Chesapeake program, but projected to be the starting quarterback for the defending two-time 6A-South Region Champs.

Tigers assistant coach Rod Johnson followed Kelly on the show. Previously, Rod was the State Football Editor here on VirginiaPreps.com for before joining the coaching staff at Oscar Smith in 2016. He discussed the transition going from covering athletes to now coaching.

Last but not least was Darnell Moore, former Head Football Coach at Bayside and Wilson. Coach Moore guided Bayside to a regional title in 2010 and directed Wilson to a couple of State Championships. Currently, he serves as one of the main members on the selection committee for the 757 All-Star Football Classic. How football has changed since his last gig as a Head Coach and some of the standouts he took in during the recent Lake Taylor Powerade 7 on 7 were among the topics they addressed.
