Conliffe piling up offers

Hampton defensive end Elijah Conliffe continues to be among the hottest recruits in the state of Virginia from the Class of 2017 as the Crabbers big man recently saw his resume jump to thirteen offers when the University of Tennessee extended him an invite.

The Vols became the second SEC program to offer the 6-foot-4, 263-pound lineman as he previously received an offer from Georgia.

The three-star prospect was named the Defensive Player of the Year in Conference 10 and earned a second team all-region spot following a junior campaign where he helped lead the Crabbers to a 12-1 record falling in the state quarterfinals.

A powerful, but raw, player during his junior season, Conliffe overpowers opponents whether he's coming off the edge chasing down quarterbacks or when he's moved inside to stuff opponents' run games.

In allowing only 123 points in thirteen games, the Crabbers defense held every opponent that they faced to 21 or fewer points.

Right now, Conliffe seems to have captured the attention of all the big-name BCS programs throughout the mid-Atlantic region, but it seems only a matter of time before a few big national names throw their hats into the ring for his services.
