Bulldogs Earn Top Seed

Norfolk Academy finished their TCIS regular season schedule without a loss after defeating Walsingham 12-0 this weekend. The Bulldogs earned the #1 seed in the TCIS tournament which starts this week. They are currently ranked #4 in the VISAA D1 State rankings.

Jack Markey drove in two runs despite not getting a hit. He had a sacrifice fly for an RBI in the 1st inning ands he grounded out to second which scored another run in the third inning.

The Bulldogs scored seven runs in the third and a solo homerun by Matthew Cooper to start the 4th inning extended the lead to 10-0. Cooper finished 2 for 2 with two RBI. Leadoff hitter Jack Sessoms scored three runs and finished with three hits including a double. Alex Gillikin and Ryan French also had multiple hits.

Pitcher Isaiah Nelson kept Walsingham off the scoreboard to earn the win. Nelson allowed two hits and struckout eight in five innings.
