Remarks:
There were fewer nominations this week over previous weeks but the
immediate posting of Ahmad Bradshaw’s usual stellar performance may have
discouraged others. We were
delighted to see it didn’t discourage a linebacker nomination.
You would think a smaller number of nominations would have made the
decision easier but a 5 TD performance by repeat nominee Michael Pennix
made things a bit tougher along with another great repeat performance out of
Vic Hall at
Gretna
. In the end, Ahmad Bradshaw gets
the nomination for Week 4 in another very close contest.
We hope to see many more nominations in Week 5.
Each of these players had
outstanding games and your nominations and recognition of their efforts are
truly a reward in itself. These
fine football players aren’t playing for recognition so the appreciation of
their fans means a lot.

Nominations
and Comments Posted
Michael
O’Brien, QB,
Stone
Bridge
Michael O'Brien completed 10 of 16 passes for 167 yards
and two touchdowns. O'Brien also rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown. Massaponax
is a tough team and was undefeated (3-0) at the time, yet O'Brien left the
game early in the second half with the lead well in hand.
Vicqual
Hall, QB,
Gretna
My Nomination is for
Gretna
sophmore QB Vicqual
Hall. He Had another phenominal week Rushing for
165 on 8 carries and two rushing touchdowns!(He had
112 yds on 3 carries and two touchdowns rushing at
halftime)He also was 7-11 passing for 109 yds and
two touchdowns.
Brandon Tucker,
LB, Matoaca
Brandon Tucker, Junior Linebacker, from
Matoaca
High School
, should really be considered this week he had a great defensive game as
always. He had 13 tackles week 1, 12 tackles week 2, 13 tackles, a forced
fumble and 2 sacks week 3, 14 tackles a forced fumble and a fumble recovery
week 4. Thats in games against three AAA opponents
and a strong Caroline team.
Ahmad Bradshaw,
RB, Graham
Ammad Bradshaw, the running
back of Graham had 308 yards rushing on the ground, scored all 5 of Graham's
touchdowns, had 59 receiving yards.
Todd Goodson,
End/DE, Graham
Playing his first year of football (he's a junior),
Todd played the best game of his short career last night. As an end on
offense, Todd had a 30+ yard reception in the second half when Richlands
began to bottle up Graham's running game plus caught a 2-point conversion. But
that isn't why I'm listing him. On four of Ahmad's TD runs Todd was well down
field making key blocks to cleat the path to the end zone. He also laid a
crushing block on a Richlands LB that knocked the
earpiece out of his helmet. On defense, Todd got his first start at DE. He had
two sacks, several tackles for losses, and also had one pass rush (which
caused the QB to pull the ball down and take a sack). Todd also had several
good pass coverages from the DE position.
Michael Pennix,
RB,
Liberty
(
Bedford
)
Pennix had over 200 yards
rushing and 5 TD's in the 48-7 win over Rustburg.
I think that would deserve a nomination seeing as how Rustburg's defense was
supposed to be one of the best in the Seminole.
Nominations for the Player of the Week are accepted from
Saturday thru Tuesday (12 Noon) each week. To make your submission, please
visit the AA Football Messageboard and post the players name, and a detailed
account of his accomplishments.
