Powell Valley quarterback Brad Robbins was named the 2004 Region D Offensive

Player of the Year after leading his team to within seven points of

the Group A, Division 2 state title, while Clintwood linebacker Duran Moore was

chosen Defensive Player of the Year.

Robbins, who also made the first team as a kicker, was one of six Vikings to

receive first-team honors. Seth Jones, Cagle Juhan and Patrick McKinney joined

Robbins on the offensive side while McKinney, Luke Spurlock and Cody Zirkle were

named first-team defense.

Gate City placed five players on the first team with Zach Jones, Corey

Shepherd and Luke Humphreys on offense and Marc Williams, Will Humphreys and

Luke Humphreys representing the Blue Devils on defense.

Honaker grabbed six first-team slots with Danny Mickles, Bryan Johnson, Tyler

Patrick and Andrew Bostic on offense, and Patrick and Johnson also occupying

defensive positions.

Burton's Michael Williams went both ways with first-team offense and defense

honors while Lee Robinson also was named on offense.

Jake Colley of Haysi was named first-team defensive back and punter while

teammates Wade Sperow and Jesse Yates were named to the offensive team.

Also making the first team offense were Matt Jordan of St. Paul, Brandon

Ashworth of Twin Springs, Jon Michael Fleming of Clintwood and Zach Berry of Rye

Cove.

Others named first-team defense were Sam Gilmer from Twin Springs, Moore of

Clintwood, and Berry and Jeff Edwards from Rye Cove.
