Troy Wells has been named the new boys basketball head coach at Hidden Valley High School.

Wells is currently head boys basketball coach at Martinsville High School. He's been the head coach at Martinsville since 1995, and previously an assistant coach at Martinsville for 17 years.
He led the Bulldogs to three state championships, nine Piedmont District championships, and seven regional championships. The Bulldogs had an 223-85 record under Wells' leadership. Martinsville has appeared in 9 of the past 12 Group AA State Tournaments. Wells was an assistant under the legendary Husky Hall for five state championship teams.
In his 28 years at the school, the Bulldogs have been to 17 state tournaments and 13 Final Fours.
Wells is a two-time Associated Press Coach of the Year, two-time VHSL State Coach of the Year, two-time Roanoke Times Timesland Coach of the Year, and a nine-time district Coach of the Year.
