High School Sports Talk Presented by VirginiaPreps.com airs each and every Saturday from 10 AM EST to Noon on ESPN Radio 94.1, hosted by Matthew Hatfield and Coach Ed Young.
With Coach Young on assignment, Matt flew solo on his side of the glass while Kyle and Thomas co-produced the November 12th edition of the program. To start the show, it was a recap of the Friday night, opening round playoff action. From there, four coaches came on live.
First up was Lakeland's Kevin Knight, whose Cavaliers ousted Poquoson in the first round to set up a second round matchup with Tabb.
Following Coach Knight was Grafton's Matt McLeod's to discuss a wild comeback victory for his Clippers at Smithfield. Grafton trailed by 18 points at the start of the fourth quarter before rallying for the 30-27 win over a Packers team that beat them 50-8 just one week prior.
In the 11 AM hour, Norview's Dealton Cotton came on to talk about the Pilots moving on to the reigonal quarterfinals by eliminating Nansemond River.
Indian River's Glenwood Ferebee stopped by to chat about the Braves beating Bethel, a team that defeated them in the season opener. That means Indian River will see Hampton, who they eliminated from the playoffs a year ago, in the second round at Darling Stadium.
A playback interview with Bayside Head Football Coach Jon White also aired from the Marlins defeating Tallwood. Bayside had previously lost to Tallwood in the regular season meeting, so the Marlins get a trip to top-seeded Oscar Smith in the second round.
To close up the program, Coach Young called from an undisclosed location to chime in on a variety of topics...
