Final VHSL Top Ten Football Rankings for 2017

The 2017 Virginia High School Football season has come and gone. Five teams that captured State Championships last year repeated, which was the maximum given that Blacksburg - the 3A Champ from 2016 - moved up to Class 4, where they were ousted by defending Champ Salem in a regional title game.

To go a step further, four teams in Westfield (Class 6), Highland Springs (Class 5), Salem (Class 4) and Appomattox (Class 2) all won their third State Championship in a row. Riverheads won its fifth state title since 2000, while Hopewell rebounded from a three-game losing streak to end the regular season by winning five playoff games in a row to hoist the program's fifth State Championship as well.
