Dan River graduates and brothers Tremaine Edmunds and Terrell Edmunds of the Virginia Tech Hokies have decided to enter the 2018 NFL Draft.

Terrell departs Blacksburg after a 2017 campaign in which he finished with 59 total tackles and two interceptions before going down in November with a shoulder injury. He had 89 tackles and four interceptions in 2016.

Tremaine, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound linebacker, was in on 32.5 tackles for loss the past two years. He's leaving the Hokies after starting 29 of the past 40 games. Rivals rated Tremaine a four-star prospect.

Both Tremaine and Terrell have great bloodlines. Their father, Ferrell Edmunds, was a Pro Bowl tight end in the NFL selected in the third round of the 1988 league draft by the Miami Dolphins. He also played for the Seattle Seahawks and serves currently as the Head Football Coach at Dan River High School.

Tremaine and Terrell have an older brother in Trey Edmunds who is currently a rookie running back for the New Orleans Saints.

There have been over 300 pairs of siblings to play in the NFL. But it's rare to see two get drafted in the same year. Twins Tiki Barber and Ronde Barber leap to mind after stellar career at UVA, then getting drafted in 1997. Tiki ascended to Pro Bowl status with the New York Giants as a running back, the same for Ronde as a corner with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, helping them win Super Bowl 36.

There are other potential Virginia natives that could go in the first three rounds of the draft in the spring.

They include Oscar Smith (Chesapeake) grad and defensive end Josh Sweat out of Florida State; another FSU product in defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi out of Virginia Beach's Ocean Lakes High School; Ohio State defensive lineman Jalyn Holmes from Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk; Virginia Tech defensive lineman Tim Settle out of Stonewall Jackson High in Manassas; and University of Virginia safety Quin Blanding out of Virginia Beach's Bayside HS.
