In arguably the most exciting game and the first overtime in the history of the VirginiaPreps.com Classic, the Landstown Eagles edged Middleburg Academy 67-63 in overtime. Middleburg had a chance to tie with four seconds to go in OT but VCU recruit Mo Alie-Cox missed his only field goal attempt on the night.

The last few minutes of the fourth quarter and the overtime period was edge-of-your-seat-exciting. After a poor shooting, 1st half in which he went 1 of 8 from the floor, Landstown senior Tim Marshall hit big shot after big shot to help the Eagles reach overtime. His three with 5:09 remaining gave Landstown a 50-44 lead.

Drew Henry answered for Middleburg with a three and after a block by Cox, Henry broke free for a layup to end an 8-0 run which put the Dragons ahead 52-50 with two minutes to go.

With Landstown slowly fading down the stretch, Marshall showed ice water in his veins draining a huge three to give Landstown the lead 53-52 with 1:46 mark. Henry answered again with a deep three from the side that swished in all net.

Now, it was Marshall's turn again and he took a pass from Sedric Nady and scored a layup while getting fouled. His subsequent free throw pushed Landstown in front 56-55.

D.J. Roberson had a chance to extend the lead to four but made 1 of 2 free throws. With 20 seconds left, Alie-Cox was fouled and the VCU recruit made two free throws to tie the game and force overtime.

Alie-Cox gave Middleburg a lead in the extra period will a ferocious alley-oop slam dunk and then he blocked a shot and dished to Marcus Hayes for a layup to give Middleburg a 4-point lead.

After Landstown cut the lead to two, Marshall once again stepped up from long range making a three to give Landstown a 64-63 lead. Tyri Morring and Sedric Nady made free throws down the stretch. Nady added 14 points for Landstown and Tyri Morring had 12. Middleburg was led by Mo Alie-Cox who finished with 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting with 12 rebounds and 6 blocks.
