Edison took the early lead but a hall jumper, followed by a short jumper from Devin Neal, a steal/layup by Lequan Thomas, and a three by Buchanan ended a 11-0 run that gave Green Run a 28-19 cushion with four minutes to go before halftime.

In the third quarter, Thomas Edison stormed back with a 10-0 run of their own and they took a 36-35 lead after a jumper by Markus Brumsey. A pretty reverse by Buchanan put the Stallions back in front and they led by one after three.

Green Run scored the first six points in the fourth quarter to take a 7-point lead only to see the Eagles come back again on a layup by bigman Matt Murphy off a feed from Brumsey. With his team needing a basket, Buchanan was fouled on his dribble drive to the basket but he was able to finish at the rim. His free throw made the score 55-51. The Eagles had several good looks at the rim in the last minute but couldn't convert.

Mark Hall, who is headed to the University of Virginia on a football scholarship, added 15 points and 10 rebounds while Lequan Thomas chipped in 11 points and three steals. Thomas Edison was led by 6-foot-7 Matt Murphy who tallied 12 points. Both Markus Brumsey and Mike Counts (5 of 6 shooting) added 11 points each. Sophomore Chief Amoah dished out 11 assists.
