Video Interview - Lafayette's Andy Linn after 21-13 win at Smithfield

Lafayette Head Football Coach and now Athletic Director Andy Linn saw his Rams show their, "grit," in a 21-13 road win over Smithfield on Friday night, where the Packers were very determined to protect their home turf and jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter.

From there, the Rams scored 21 unanswered points - the touchdowns coming courtesy of standouts Caleb Kraegenbrink, Kyle Johnson and Virginia Tech commit Hezekiah Grimsley. The Packers would pull within one possession down on a kickoff return for a touchdown, but Lafayette's defense was stout in the second in limiting Smithfiedl to 58 total yards over the final two quarters after they gained 139 yards through the game's first 24 minutes of play.

As for Lafayette, the Rams racked up 380 total yards on 63 plays with most of those coming on the ground via 57 carries for 307 yards.

With the win, Lafayette improved to 3-0 overall on the year. They have now won 35 consecutive Bay Rivers District contests, and if the squad is able to win its next seven games, the Rams will wrap up a fourth consecutive undefeated regular season.

Coach Linn, who is now 59-8 overall in six seasons at the helm, caught up with us following the game to talk about his team and their performance for a Video Interview embedded above and at the link below...
