Video Interview - Cox Coach Bill Stachelski after win over Landstown

And then there was one. Only one undefeated football team remains in the Beach District as teams get ready for the final Friday of September 2016. That squad - the Cox Falcons.

On Saturday, Cox hit the road to Landstown, which entered at 4-0 overall, and the Falcons handled the Eagles by a score of 32-6. They jumped out to a 15-0 lead at half-time without a single offensive touchdown.

Cox connected on three field goals from two different kickers - Carson DiNardo and Owen Smith - on the afternoon, plus got a safety and a 12-yard interception return for a touchdown from senior linebacker Matthew Broccoletti. They would add another interception, courtesy of Zack Mauer, later on in the game.

In the second half, the Cox offense revved up behind the play of senior QB A.J. Smith, versatile sophomore standout Tayvion Robinson and sophomore running back Leno Lester.

Smith completed a 35-yard touchdown pass to Lester and had a 31-yard strike to Robinson, who ran for 101 yards and a touchdown on 15 attempts. Lester gained 62 yards on 15 carries, moving the chains five times.

This is the second straight 4-0 start for the Falcons and we caught up with Head Football Coach Bill Stachelski afterwards to discuss their latest performance in a Video Interview embedded above and that can be watched at the link below.
