Following the 2004 season Eason, a 6-foot-1, 300 pound offensive lineman was
selected a first team All Southeastern District and All Eastern Region and second team All State
as an offensive lineman.
Eason was named first team all district as a
junior. Prior to Eason's senior season in the weight room, he had a bench max of
385 pounds and a squat max exceeding 500 pounds.
During the 2004 season Eason led the way for a Deep Creek attack that rushed for 7.4 yards per carry as they accumulated 3,048 yards on the ground alone in eleven games. As a guard in the Hornets
Wing-T attack, Eason was the key blocker on most of their plays. "Vernon is a very good football player. He's as quick to the edge as anybody," says Deep Creek Coach
David Cox, "he reminds me of Kevin Mawae of the New York Jets."
