Mann has had a busy off-season in preparing for his senior year of baseball. To get ready for the season, Mann has been participating in conditioning programs, which involve running and lifting weights. Mann also committed to play at Old Dominion University beginning in the Fall of 2007. On November 22, 2006 head baseball coach Jerry Meyers announced the signing of the local standout. Many factors led Mann to choose to play his college ball at Old Dominion. One of the most important factors to him was his family. Old Dominion is close to home for Mann, and it will make it easy for his parents to come and see him play. Mann was also enticed to play for Old Dominion because one of his friends and former teammates, Dan Hudson, is a pitcher for the university. Coach Meyers and the rest of the Old Dominion coaching staff appealed to Mann, making his decision even easier to make.
Since the end of the 2006 baseball season, Mann has been busy improving his baseball game. Over the summer, Mann played with the Tidewater Orioles, a traveling scout team. College scouts would come out and watch the team play and assess the talents of the players on the team. Mann also participated in numerous other baseball programs: the 2006 Perfect Game National Showcase in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the 2006 USA Baseball Tournament of Stars in Jopin, Missouri, and the 2006 East Coast Pro Showcase in Wilmington, North Carolina. Mann has also accumulated some impressive accolades during his young baseball career. In 2005, he and the other member of the Princess Anne Cavaliers won the baseball state championship in Virginia. When he was younger, he won an AAU championship, which is one of his favorite moments as a player.
The Princess Anne outfielder has a positive outlook for his senior season. Some of his personal goals he would like to achieve for the 2007 season includes getting stronger and improving his hitting. He plans to accomplish these goals through hard work and determination. The Princess Anne Cavaliers are a young team heading into the 2007 season. The team is viewed as an underdog in the Beach District for the upcoming season, but Mann believes they are going to surprise the critics. Mann is up for the challenge, and he believes the Cavaliers have a chance to be contenders in the 2007 season.
