Ship for Flint Hill

Flint Hill completed an undefeated season and won their 1st VISAA State title with a 33-21 win over defending State champion Collegiate. The Huskies finished the season with a perfect 11-0 record while winning every game by double digit margins.

Collegiate scored on their opening drive thanks to a muffed punt by Trey Rucker that kept the drive going. Trey Boll caught a 10-yard pass from quarterback T Brewer to put the Cougars up 7-0.

Flint Hill turned the ball over via interception on their 1st play and they had a touchdown run called back but Miles Thompson found an opening an scampered 22-yards for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was blocked and the Cougars still led 7-6.

Jordan Houston ran for the 1st of his three touchdowns weaving his way thru the Cougars defense for a 39-yard touchdown to put Flint Hill up 13-7 just before halftime. He added a 2-yard touchdown to start the 3rd quarter and all but iced the game with a 43-yard run with 1:46 left in the game.

Trey Rucker made up for his earlier turnover by turning a short out pattern into a 75-yard touchdown to give Flint Hill a 27-7 lead with 3:28 to go in the 3rd quarter.

Collegiate added two late touchdowns in the final three minutes but it was too little too late. T Brewer passed for 262 yards with two touchdowns. Junior receiver Ayinde Budd finished with 11 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.

Houston finished with three touchdowns while rushing for 189 yards on 21 carries.
