Houston Runs Wild

Flint Hill junior Jordan Houston totaled 364 yards from scrimmage with four touchdowns as Flint Hill defeated Collegiate 41-28 to remain unbeaten. Houston scored on runs of 45, 66 and 80 yards while hauling in a 96-yard touchdown reception. The Huskies trailed 14-7 in the 2nd quarter but scored the next 27 points to take a 34-14 lead early in the 4th quarter.

Houston simply took over in the 3rd quarter and he changed the momentum of the game with three huge plays. He gave Flint Hill the lead with a 45-yard touchdown run to make the score 20-14. He made a key recovery of a fumbled snap at the Flint Hill 1-yard line with Collegiate on the verge of retaking the lead. With the Huskies backed-up on their own 4-yard line, he took advantage of man-to-man coverage catching a sideline pass out of the backfield and sprinting 98-yards for a touchdown.

Collegiate scored two 4th quarter touchdowns to trim the lead to 34-28 with three minutes to go. Houston switched on the afterburners one last scoring from 80-yards out.

The matchup was littered with top performances on both sides of the ball. Houston finished with 261 rushing yards on 23 carries with three touchdowns while adding two receptions for 103 yards and a score. Quarterback Miles Thompson completed 12 of 24 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns. The Huskies defensive line continued to put pressure on the Collegiate backfield. Joe Worman had two sacks while Christian Turner added another.

Flint Hill kicker Justin Duenkel made two 40+ yard field goals and all his extra points while recording at-least six touchbacks.

Collegiate receiver Ayinde Budd 13 receptions for 173 yards including an opening 80-yard touchdown reception. Quarterback T Brewer completed 25 of 43 passes for 356 yards and two touchdowns.
