High School Sports Talk Presented by VirginiaPreps.com airs each and every Saturday from 10 AM EST to Noon on ESPN Radio 94.1, hosted by Matthew Hatfield and Coach Ed Young.

On April 22nd, the guys hit the road to the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton for Session 1 of the Nike EYBL - which featured 40 teams on the AAU basketball circuit with many of the nation's best prospects on display in front of college coaches from all over the country.

As the likes of Mike Krzyzewski from Duke, Roy Williams of UNC, Kentucky's John Calipari and so many others watched on, there was wall-to-wall action all weekend long. Quite a few guests appeared on the radio program, too.

Up first was Torrence Oxendine, Class of 1995 from I.C. Norcom High School in Portsmouth who is now the Head Basketball Coach and Athletic Director at Laurel High School in Maryland. Coach Oxendine is also involved with Team Takeover's travel program.

In the second segment of the show - Shareef O'Neal from California Supreme stopped by to talk about his recent commitment to the Arizona Wildcats. Shareef, who is rated a five-star prospect and #16 overall nationally by Rivals.com, is also the son of former three-time NBA Finals MVP Shaquille O'Neal.

A pair of Boo Williams 16-Under players - Michael Christmas from Landstown and Chase Coleman of Maury - were guests on the show. Christmas, the VHSL 6A State Player of the Year, hit a game-winning shot in the Saturday morning win for his team. Chase, who was a 1st Team All-Conference performer as a sophomore, runs the point.

Ed Miller, who handles the Old Dominion football and basketball beat for the Virginian-Pilot, stopped by to give his thoughts on the EYBL as well as how ODU's football team is looking this spring, fresh off the program's first ever bowl victory.

Kate Yanchulis, who covers the Peninsula District for the Daily Press, chatted for a few minutes on what she saw at the Allen Iverson All-Star Games, plus chimed in on the event going on at the BooPlex.

Last but not least was Matt Coleman, the Texas signee who is rated #43 overall in the nation by Rivals.com for the Class of 2017. Matt participated in the Iverson All-Star Classic, plus hails from Norfolk - where he played at Maury High School for two seasons - and just finished up his time at Oak Hill. Coleman - the older brother of the aforementioned Chase - talked about his upcoming future with the Longhorns.
