Curtis and Dohse Join Others With Commitments

A pair of two-time All-Examiner football selections have made their college choices. Robinson senior linebacker Jack Curtis will play at the Virginia Military Institute and Centreville senior wide receiver Cameron Dohse has accepted a scholarship offer from William & Mary.

The 5-foot-11, 210-pound Curtis, a three-year starter, was The Examiner's Defensive Player of the Year this past season. He twice led the Rams in tackles and was twice chosen first-team all state by The Associated Press. Curtis chose VMI over Georgetown, Holy Cross and Lehigh. The Keydets hired a new coach last month, former Richmond coach Jim Reid.

"I just love the direction the program is going, with new facilities and a new coaching staff," Curtis said. "I'm used to a disciplined, serious approach to football and that's what I'm going to get at VMI, too."

The 6-foot, 190-pound Dohse, who also had scholarship offers from Richmond and Elon, caught 54 passes for 843 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior, helping the Wildcats' offense total an area-best 44.7 points per game.

"Cam is the best receiver I've ever had at Centreville," said Skinner, who has been at the school for 12 years. "William & Mary is getting a kid with great practice habits who knows how to play the game."
