Basketball for the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins,
a Division III power in the Tidewater area.

Team honor and Second Team All-Northern Region.
He drilled 25 three-pointers and recorded nine double-digit rebound
games. Owens also shot 71.5% from the
foul line, connecting on 118-of-165 attempts.
"I decided on Virginia Wesleyan because I believe the school
is a good fit for me both academically and athletically," Owens told
VirginiaPreps.com.
"When I visited the campus, I loved how positive the environment
was. I feel that I am a good fit for the
team and their system because they like to get up and down the court, play
pressure defense and those are things that I excel at I believe.
style='mso-spacerun:yes'> They plan to play me some at the 3, but mostly
at the 4 spot. I think I will be able to
play the post and step out and knock down 3's."
During his junior season, Owens scored 27 points on two
separate occasions and was the second leading scorer on the team, helping
Centreville reached the Northern Region Tournament for a second consecutive
year.
Under the direction of Coach

Williams College 79-73 in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III

Championship.
Owens also was recruited by Marymount University, Eastern
Mennonite, Hampden-Sydney, Catholic University and Hood College.

steps on the floor with the Marlins.
"I will continue to be a hard worker in the classroom and on
the basketball court. It is very
important to me to be a successful student and earn my degree," Owens
acknowledged. "I am going to be a team
player and do anything that I can do to help my team succeed, and hopefully win
a National Championship. I look forward
to playing for Coach Macedo and playing with the
great group of guys on the team."
