Benedictine opened the game with a 10-0 run and came away with a 57-55 win over John Marshall despite falling behind briefly in the fourth quarter. Robert Johnson led the way with 17 points and six assists for the Benedictine who improved to 21-2 on the season.

The Cadets led by as much as 14 after two free throws by LG Gill gave the Cadets a 30-14 just before halftime. Johnson had 13 of his 17 points in the first half as the Cadets built a 32-24 lead.

The Justices made a run in the fourth quarter and opened the 4th quarter with a 14-4 run. Senior Brian White converted a conventional 3-point play and Gee Dean-McBride followed with a 3-pointer to reduce the margin to 49-45. After a jumper by Robert Johnson, John Marshall scored eight straight points and took the lead on a basket from sophomore Jay Broadus with 3:15 remaining.

However that would be the Justices final basket as Benedictine scored the next six points including a layup by Nick Gorski with 23 seconds remaining that put the Cadets up by four.

Gee Dean-McBride was fouled on a 3-point attempt with 0.01 remaining and made the first two but his attempt to missed the final shot on purpose for a tip-in did not work.
