Casey Dominating

Defending state champion Hanover needed a big game from their star pitcher Derek Casey and he delivered a dominating performance. In a pitchers duel, University of Virginia recruit struckout 13 batters to help Hanover defeat Lee-Davis 2-0.

The teams combined for only seven total hits and no runs were scored after the first inning. Hanover scored both of their runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Josh Shepherd led off with a walk Cayman Richardson reached base on a bunt single. Trevor Denton hit a line drive to right field scoring both Shepherd and Richardson. Denton was thrown out at third on the play.

Casey made the two runs stick allowing three hits and only one walk. He struck out the side in the second inning.

Lee-Davis pitcher Joey Pride was outstanding allowing only two runs while striking out six.
