When Bradenton (Fla.) Manatee head coach Joe Kinnan tells you 'this guy is pretty good - probably the best we have on the line' - you take note.

Michael Galati joined the list of USF verbal commitments, becoming the third offensive lineman to pledge in the 2014 class.

Galati, a 6-foot-2, 280 pound versatile lineman who has played all five positions for the Hurricanes in the last three years, is excited with his decision.

"It really came down to location and travel," Galati said. "I was looking at Florida International and USF - and USF is only an hour away."

"Plus, the two cities are very different," Galati added. "I really liked the campus at USF."

Galati said both coaching staffs made it a very hard decision.

"Both staffs are very good," Galati said. "I really liked them both, but I was impressed with coach Willie Taggart and how he's got the whole area excited."

Galati is being recruited by Raymond Woodie.

Kinnan plans to play Galati on the 'blind side' this year at left tackle.

"He can play center, he can play guard, he can play tackle, heck he played tight end his first year," Kinnan said. "But with a right-handed quarterback, you put your best pass protector at his blind side."

"His family are Manatee people," Kinnan continued. "His whole family has attended school here. His cousins played here. He will be a great pick up for USF."

Galati said the Hurricanes have a little unfinished business from last year, and they've been working all summer to rectify that.

"We've been working hard as a team in the weight room getting ready for the fall," Galati said. "I'll be playing tackle this year. I play where they need me."

Galati joins USF commits Michael Smith and Bruno Reagan as offensive line commitments in the 2014 class.
