Saturday and Sunday the USF campus will be buzzing with footballs flying as the second of two two-day 7-on-7 tournaments called the 'Sling and Shoot' gets underway.

In June, the first session was eye-opening - with many South Florida prospects and targets on campus for the first time. This weekend's event promises to be larger - with 46 teams competing.

So - we took a few minutes to break down five teams to keep an eye on - and players to watch as well.

Five to watch - the teams

Plant: The champions of the first Sling and Shoot in June, the Plant Panthers will look to defend their crown - and have all the talent to do so. Quarterback Colby Brown is a very smart and efficient signal caller - he reads defensives well and should be able to pick teams apart. He comes from a long line of talented Plant quarterbacks - and should impress this weekend.

Plant will boast an extremely talented secondary - with several big time prospects. Mazzi Wilkins has been a USF target for quite some time, Derrick Baity received his first offer from USF at the first Sling and Shoot event, and Wisconsin commit Austin Hudson will impress. Texas commit Andrew Beck will man the middle at linebacker for the Panthers.

Armwood: The Armwood Hawks are - as usual - a loaded 7-on-7 squad. Quarterback Noah Johnson impressed RTB at last month's Sling and Shoot - and was the top passer there. He was used as an athlete last year, but should be poised for a big season under center.

Rivals 250Kyle Gibson will be one of the most highly touted prospects this weekend. A new face to get familiar with is 2015 linebacker Jordan Griffin - he already has offers from Marshall and UCF. Armwood should be as solid as always and will be one of the top schools in contention.

Tampa Bay Tech: Lead by three-star USF commit Tajee Fullwood, Tampa Bay Tech will be a major player this weekend. 2015 athlete Deon Cain, who has early offers from Florida State and USF, will sling the ball around for Tech. He should have much success with the talented Tajee 'Hollywood' Fullwood at receiver. Fullwood has game-breaking speed and will be in the endzone - a lot.

Florida International commit Fred Russ and two-star prospect Micah Tucker play linebacker for Tech. Two-star running back Deon Thompson, who holds three division one offers, is lightning in a bottle for Tech.

Dunbar: Rivals 250 wide receiver Ryeshene Bronson is the headliner for the Tigers. Bronson is a freak talent - and the USF target should put on a show. Robert Byrd is undersized but should be a talent to watch out for.

The Tigers have speed to burn and will try to throw deep. They've got the talent to do so.

North Carolina commit Tajze Battle could also walk away with a new offer with a standout performance.

Gaither: Champions of the BCP 9route 7v7 tournament, the Gaither Cowboys will look to continue their seven-on-seven dominance. Quarterback Alex McGough is a Florida International commit and has all the tools to light it up at Sling and Shoot. Defensive back Amani Oruwariye will be one of the higher profile prospects on hand - and it will be interesting to see how he performs against a top receiver like Bronson. Gaither is a well oiled machine in seven-on-seven competition and should be a top team as well.
