Raw Talent Combine loaded again

Follow Givler |

Every year the Raw Talent Underclassmen Combine in the Cleveland (Ohio) area brings some of the top talent from Northeast Ohio together for a great event. This year's combine, scheduled to take place on Saturday night at 7 PM, will be no different with several outstanding prospects expected to attend the event put on by Raw Talent Sports CEO Mark Harris. Below, we take a look at some of the top prospects that are expected to work out on Saturday night.

Shaker Heights crew looking to impress

Shaker Heights High School in the Cleveland area has no fewer than six potential Division I prospects in its 2014 recruiting class and many of them will be on hand on Saturday night. Offensive lineman Ja'Merez Bowen has been blowing up recently with offers from schools such as Kentucky, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, and UCLA, among many others.

Defensive end Joe Henderson is also one of the state's top prospects, with offers from Illinois, Louisville, Michigan State, and UCLA. Henderson has a lightning quick first step and is always a player to watch at combine events as he should test very well on Saturday night.

Perhaps the most underrated prospect in the group is wide receiver Odell Spencer. Spencer is sitting on a pair of MAC offers in Akron and Buffalo but is a prospect that many feel is a BCS conference talent.

Fellow receiver Nolan Jackson-Daniel is another Shaker Heights product to watch for on Saturday. Jackson-Daniel suffered some injury issues during his junior season but still holds an early offer from Iowa. More offers will be sure to follow.

Running back Greg Claytor is another Shaker Heights product that expects to impress on Saturday. Claytor runs with great balance and pad level and holds an early offer from Akron after a strong junior season.

Is Baker the next big thing out of Cleveland Heights?

The Cleveland Heights program has produced All-Americans each of the last two seasons in offensive tackle Kyle Dodson and wide receiver Shelton Gibson. In addition to those two, the program has also turned out several other Big Ten level prospects recently, most notably De'Niro Laster (Minnesota) and Marcus McShepard (Northwestern).

Class of 2014 athlete Dorian Baker looks to be the next in this line as he is one of the most versatile prospects in Ohio. Baker's size and speed could project to either wide receiver, strong safety, or weak-side linebacker at the next level and the 6-foot-3, 205-pound prospect already holds a handful of offers. More will surely be on the way as he continues to impress on the camp circuit.

St. Ed's well represented

There is a very talented group of rising juniors at Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward High School and three of them are expected to work out on Saturday night in athlete Shaun Crawford, running back Andrew Dowell, and wide receiver/safety David Dowell.

Crawford is already sitting on a pair of BCS offers from Illinois and Tennessee and will likely be one of the most highly recruited prospects in the state for his class. The Dowell twins, while not holding any offers yet, are being pursued by several Big Ten programs already and it is only a matter of time before offers start to come their way.

Also working out from St. Ed's is rising senior safety Jack Walz. Walz is coming off an outstanding performance at the Massillon Nike Combine and will now look to put those big numbers to the test in the one-on-one portion of this event.
