Lazard recaps Iowa visit

Class of 2014 wide receiver Allen Lazard from Urbandale has grown up on the Iowa State side of the Cy-Hawk rivalry, but on Saturday he watched the game at Kinnick Stadium on an Iowa recruiting visit. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Lazard talks about the trip, some of the new schools showing interest this month, where else he plans to visit this season, and much more.

Q: Can you talk a little bit about the Iowa visit on Saturday and how it went?

LAZARD: Yeah. I went there with my parents and we actually got there a little after kickoff because I had to take the ACT's in the morning. But when I got there, I just got my tickets and went in and sat with the other recruits and watched the game.

Q: With your dad having played at Iowa State, what is it like for you watching that game as a recruit visiting Iowa? Is it kind of a unique situation?

LAZARD: Yeah, it is. Since I'm being recruited by both, I don't want to cheer for one team and have the other team see it, so I just kind of sat back and watched the game. It was a good game obviously other than a lot of turnovers. I really enjoyed it.
