Briar Woods football coach Charlie Pierce informed VirginiaPreps.com that his senior (Class of 2013) standout Mikey Barta has made his college decision.

Earlier this week Barta was offered a preferred walk-on spot by William & Mary.

Pierce told VirginiaPreps.com "Barta has accepted a preferred walk-on offer from William & Mary.  He has been instrumental in our state championship runs.  He is a two year starter at safety and did an outstanding job in our secondary.  He was outstanding in our coverage checks, a sure tackler and a ballhawk.  He is an outstanding student and a tremendous worker and knows what it takes to win.

Briar Woods has won three consecutive D-4 state titles and will move to D-5 next fall.
