Bishop O Connell evened their season record at 1-1 after a convincing 41-0 shutout of Paul VI. The Knights were never threatened leading 14-0 after only four minutes had ticked off the clock. They were simply a bigger, faster, and more athletic football team and they took advantage of several big plays to break the game open.
Bishop O Connell had seven plays that covered 20 yards or more. Boston College recruit Kam Moore got the ball rolling with an 48-yard touchdown gallop on the Knights first series and quarterback Michael Galvin tossed a touchdown pass on the final series of the game to Lawrence King for a 38-yard score.
In between those to scores was a series of explosive runs and total domination.
Galvin connected with Marquis Rowe for an 81-yard scoring play in the third quarter. He completed 8 of 12 passes for 225 yard while adding runs of 20, 13, and 17 yards to finish with 67 yards rushing. His second 1st quarter rushing touchdown extended the Knights lead to 21-0 with 1:24 to go in the quarter.
Paul VI could barely muster enough offense with a defense that forced two turnovers via an interception and fumble recovery. Linebacker Santoni Graham had close to a dozen stops, a quarterback sack, and a few bonecrushing tackles.
Offensive Performer of the Game - Bishop O Connell QB Michael Galvin Ran for two touchdowns while throwing for three more. Gavin benefited from some great yards-after-Catch (YAC) but he was on point with his passing and decision making.
