Wow!  The 2012 Best of the 757 Football Combine was another exciting display of some of the best of football talent in the 757.

Led by top performer Vincent Lowe from Grassfield (see profile below), the 2012 event was highlighted by great athletic performances during the Nike SPARQ testing and some heated battles during the 1-on-1 and 7-on-7 drills.

Featured Athlete - Vincent Lowe

Entering the Best of the 757 Football showcase at Christopher Newport University (co-sponsored by VirginiaPreps.com), Grassfield running back Vincent Lowe was performing well on the camp and combine circuit.

The Class of 2014 speedster captured the Fastest Man award at the NUC combine held at Bethel High School in April and was named one of the top performers at the camp.

But the performance turned in by the 5-foot-8 running back at the event was astonishing as the rising junior recorded a 4.22 forty, a 3.63 shuttle, a 35.3 vertical and a 32.7 power toss giving him a spectacular SPARQ rating of 120.7 far outdistancing the second-best performance of the day (Donte Haynesworth from Hanover High School scored a 98.6 SPARQ).

Best of the 757 - Baseball Showcase

Led by some of the top high school baseball coaches in the 757, the

2012 Best of the 757 Baseball Showcase will include athletic testing and a baseball skills showcase in which athletes will show off their pitching, fielding and hitting talents in front of invited scouts and college coaches.

Best of the 757 - Basketball Showcase

  Led by some of the top high school basketball coaches in the 757, the 2012 Best of the

  757 Basketball  Showcase will include athletic testing and a basketball skills showcase

  in which athletes will compete in position-specific rotations (passing, shooting,

  rebounding), 3-on-3 battles and culminating with 5-on-5 games.

  Date:                       Sunday, October 14th, 2012

  Location:                Boo Williams Sportsplex

  Cost:                       $40 (if by September 15th), $50 (by October 1st), $60 (after October 1st)
