Kellam 3 Freedom 2

Kellam senior Mitch Moynihan picked up the win and the save as the Kellam Knights moved on to the AAA Semi-Finals with a 3-2 win over the Freedom Eagles. Moynihan improved his record to 9-0 including his third postseason win.

The Knights made the most of their three base hits with two triples and a double. Kurt Sinnen scored on a wild pitch after a double in the first and his third inning triple scored Kyle Morrison to give Kellam a 2-1 lead. A Moynihan grounder scored Sinnen from third for a two-run lead.

Moynihan gave up one unearned run before leaving after five innings only to return with one out in the sixth and two batters on-base. Moynihan got Gurjot Singh to flyout to left and received and unexpected a gift when the Freedom coach touched the runner on third base. After a Umpires meeting at the mound, the runner was called out.

Freedom scored a run in the first on a double by Colin Dean and they greeted reliever Robert Reaume with two hits including an RBI single by Kevin Dean off the second base bag that scored a run.
