Virginia Beach (Va.) Bayside safety Marquel Thomas (6-foot-3, 170 pounds, 4.5 seconds) was one of the first players that Marshall offered in the 2008 recruiting class.

Earlier this spring, Thomas visited Huntington for the Green-White game and returned home with a good impression of Marshall. Heading into June, the Bayside standout held two offers. A new school has since joined the offer list.

Although he maintains offers from Marshall, Northern Illinois, and Eastern Michigan, four schools are tuning up the recruiting heat and may join the other three.

UConn, North Carolina, Syracuse, Temple and Tennessee have joined the discussion.
